Mandelas Bus-stop Refuses Promasidor
In 2011, Promasidor Ltd. embarked on some Community Social Responsibility projects within its operational environment in the Isolo Industrial area. Among them were the installation of street lights along Limca Road which was renamed after one of the company’s products, Cowbell milk and construction of passengers’ stand at a spot on Apapa-Oshodi Expressway which used to be called Mandilas Bus-stop presently rechristened Promasidor Bus-stop.
Five years after, the appellation, Promasidor Bus-stop has not jailed with commuters who ply that route on daily basis. Every time any commuter-bus passengers indicate the need to alight at that point, they announce to the bus attendant, “Mandilas wa-oo” which means some one wishes to disembark at Madilas Bus-stop; not Promsidor Bus-stop.
There used to be years back a company dealing in Volks Wagen vehicles and parts after which that bus-stop was named. Mandilas has stuck with the populace and locales familiar with that axis which will cost Promasidor Limited more fortune to erase in place of its brand.
Besides, the word, Promasidor as a name of a bus-stop accessed more by the commoners, is tedious and such a jaw-breaking mouth fool which is not friendly to the everyday people. From every indication, Mandilas Bus-stop will hardly give way to the impossible five-year old Promasidor Bus-stop.
