Wizkid To Receive Huge Figure Advance
From Sony Music Deal
Wizkid is about to
receive a juicy advance in US dollars from his record-breaking deal with Sony
Music's subsidiary RCA Records, according to reports.
Music website NotJustOk reports: “According to sources, Wizkid will receive a 7 figure advance (in US
Dollars) and sign to RCA Records who will handle his distribution deal in the
United States”.

It was revealed on
September 13, 2016 that Wizkid had signed a deal Sony Music Entertainment and
RCA Records.
A source close to Wizkid’s camp told Pulse Nigeria that
plans were in motion to announce this deal spectacularly, with many outlets
reporting that Sony Music is involved.
"There's
something big coming up for Wizkid, and it happened while he was in America.
The deal will be the biggest ever signed by an African, and signifies progress
for the music business on the continent," the source said.
Meanwhile NotJustOk’s head of content Ovie O. took to Twitter on September
12, 2016 to reveal some insights about the deal. He confirmed the
rumoured bidding war between Universal Music and Sony Music for the star.
Wizkid's signing with Sony Music will see him joining the
likes of Davido who signed a deal in the same label and Ayo Jay, who is signed
to RCA records.
The singer whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, runs
his own label imprint Star Boy has been making steady waves with his numerous
collaborations with international artistes such asDrake, Swizz Beatz,
Chris Brown and more.
The 'Ojuelegba'
crooner has also been working on dropping an album "Sounds From The Other Side" a
first under the Star Boy imprint, where he has signed Ghanaian acts - Mr Eazi,
Efya and R2Bees.
Sony Music is yet to make an announcement of this new deal .
Pulse is yet to receive a confirmation of this signing from Wizkid's
team.
