Akpabio Joins Gov Udom On Ibom Unity Concert Dance Floor

The much promoted forthcoming concert to be staged by the Performing Musicians

Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Akwa Ibom State chapter, seems to be expanding by the day. Information at the disposal of beats-onit has it that the immediate past governor of the state, now Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, will join his successor, Governor Udom Emmanuel, to grace the event now renamed, “Ibom Unity Concert.” According to chairman of the state chapter of PMAN, Comrade Enefiok George Akapan a.k.a. Chaiker Banton, the organizing committee headed by veteran music producer, Lemmy Jackson, is working round the clock to ensure that the show will be one of its kind in recent times. Akpabio is expected to join Udom on the dance floor to open the show. Apart from the indigenous artistes, the event has been expanded to feature some international artistes as well as top Nigerian stars. For this reason, the governor has personally asked that the event be moved to the last Friday in June, to allow for an elaborate and full-proof planning and execution to meet international standards. Speaking through his aide, Mr. Sam Edoho, during a courtesy visit to government house at Uyo by members of the organizing committee, the governor said he is pleased with the arrangements made by musicians in the state to foster unity among them as well as celebrate with him on his electoral victory. “I am pleased with you for coming up with this event. I have personally invited my predecessor, former Governor Godswill Akpabio, and many other personalities from all walks of life, to join me and my dear wife to open the show. I implore you to plan the event to meet international standards and possibly make it an annual event. This is why I ask that the event be moved to end of June to give enough time for proper planning, co-ordination and execution, especially after the May 29 activities. You have my full support on this,” said Governor Emmanuel. Meanwhile the media consultant to the project, Sunny Okim, has said that the confirmed list of artistes invited to perform during the epic event will he released by second week of June.
