Having won over the hearts of many with her Afro Soul and
Jazz music and dropping a good number of singles, Aramide's debut album will be
titled "Suitcase".
The act has just announced the title of her
debut album due this November.
In an acoustic video released, the AfroSoul Diva announced
that her debut album would be titled "Suitcase."
“I have been
on this journey. Me and my Guitar, I have got the Rhythm and the blues, the
Jazz all in my suitcase,” she said in the clip.
Scheduled for a November release, Aramide says her album
will take listeners on a journey. “Today
I welcome you to take this journey with me as I put together a suitcase full of
who I am.
With my album I will share the sounds in my ear and the feeling in my
heart”
Aramide recently
announced the album release in a tweet on Thursday October 6, 2016.
She has however not indicated the title of the album nor the
exact release date but her tweet suggests the album may be titled "The
Keys" with the release date to be sometime in November.
This of course has sparked not only excitement but curiosity
from her fans and followers on Twitter.
The Nigerian Afro-soul/Jazz artiste discovered her talent
for singing and writing as a teenager and decided to nurture them.
After finishing her secondary education, she learnt to play
the saxophone and guitar being very passionate about both instruments.
A third-runners up with a band she joined for the Star Quest
talent hunt show while she was still at the University of Jos spurred her to
pursue a solo career after graduation.
The talented singer got signed
to Baseline Music on September 9, 2014 after her exit from
Eldee's Trybe Records.
Aramide sings about love, betrayal, friendship, trust,
and the attendant joys and aches of womanhood. Her musical influences
include Erykah Badu, Miriam Makeba, Sade, Angelique Kidjo and other
greats.
Her approach to song-writing and her soft but deep and powerful voice are some of the things that stand her out.

The singer won the Alternative Artist of
The Year award at the 2016 edition of the Nigerian Entertainment
Award (NEA) and Best Vocal Performance (Female) category
at the 2015 edition of the Headies Award for love song ‘Iwo nikan’. She
has been nominated for the Best Female Artist in West Africaand Best
Artist in African RnB & Soul at the 2016 edition of the All
Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
Her singles released in 2016 'Love me' featuring Adekunle
Gold and 'Fun mi lowo' featuring Sir Dauda have received good
reviews and getting great airplay on radio stations within and outside Nigeria.
Aramide is well known for other songs including 'I
don’t care' an up-tempo rendition which tells off the haters of her
relationship, and 'Feeling this feeling' that talks about love and
friendship and her acoustic cover of Davido’s ‘Ekuro’ amongst others.
