Koffi Olomide's Kenya Show Moved To May Due To South Sudan Sanctions

Hundreds of fans who have been anticipating for last weekend’s Koffi Olimide Bomas of Kenya show will have to wait for a bit longer.
The France-based Congolese rhumba star, popularly known as Le Grand Mopao, has his show moved to May 7. It will be held at the same Nairobi spot.
According to the organisers of the concert, the change of dates were made due to sanctions by the
Koffi Olomide
Government of Southern Sudan where Koffi was to perform on Friday, a day before the Nairobi concert was to be held.
“All those who had bought the tickets should not panic and all those who want to buy the tickets should still go on. We are assuring you that Koffi is coming next month. Besides, we are sorry for the change of dates,” the organisers said via a message mailed to media houses.
The concert has been arranged due to public demand, and comes about a month after Koffi visited Nairobi for another sold out event. Advance normal tickets are available for Sh2,500 and Sh3,000 at the gate.
