Obitun Dance, Elenu Thrill Legend Consumers In Akure

The on-going Taste and Tell show berthed in the Sunshine
State of Akure recently, sending consumers of Legend Extra Stout into frenzy
with up-lifting artistic performances that kept those in attendance asking for
more.
The Nigerian Breweries-sponsored event which was held at
17:59 Bar, Alagbaka, Akure Ondo state was a smooth mix of cultural festivity
with a cultural dance troupe, Ondo State Standing Group, holding the audience
spell bound with superb dance performances.
The Director General, Ondo State Ministry of Culture and
Tourism, Mr. Lawrence Amemi gave his note of approval while also commending
Legend Extra Stout brand for its deliberate effort to promote culture in
Nigeria.
Speaking at the culture fest of Legend Taste and Tell, the Head of Performing Art in the Ministry, Mrs.
Becky Longe stated that the well-travelled dance troupe was proud to be
associated with the Legend brand. ‘‘A maiden is a pride to womanhood and the
Legend brand is a distinctive stout brand that has since come to revolutionize
the stout market. Therefore, the Legend stout brand is a pride to the brewing
industry’’.
While establishing the link between the Ibidun dance and Legend Extra stout, she said just as a maiden has
outstanding and exceptional features, Legend Extra Stout has unique features
that stand it out from other stout brands as depicted in the dance.
Mr. Olugbenga Marshal, Managing Director of the pub
expressed his happiness at the success of the event which he said would win
more customers to the Legend brand. The night was not without a special reward
session which has characterized every Taste and Tell campaign. Participants at
this session, picked at a raffle draw are expected to identify Legend Extra
Stout from three unmarked glasses containing other stout brands.
Winners are rewarded with a generator, a refrigerator, an
LED television set and other consolation prizes. Akin Oshomo won a television
set, Rotimi Akande and Adex Adex also smiled home with a refrigerator and a
generating set respectively.
The dance troupe mounted with mouth-watering and acrobatic
display to the delight of consumers of Legend stout brand. Performing the Obitun Dance- a dance done to celebrate
a maiden- the group which is under the Ondo State Ministry of Culture and
Tourism in addition sang a ditty for Legend Extra Stout, extolling its
distinctive qualities.
Also, fun seekers enjoyed rib-cracking jokes from some of
Nigeria’s finest comedians. Popularly known as Elenu, Comedian Julius
Akinlamia, who also hails from Ondo State, thrilled consumers with his endless
arrays of hilarious jokes. He warmed up the humid night with some of his best
jokes. The well attended Taste and Tell night also witnessed strong music
performances by Platinum Blazers, a Lagos-based band group.
