Nigerian
Artistes In 'bad girls' Renditions
Uzo Chikere
Love theme has forever dominated lyrical offerings by many
an artiste. But late Donna Summer took lyrics to another level in the early
80’s when she gave the world that hit entitled Bad Girls and things
changed forever on the beat scene.
Today, many blokes sing about the girl next door, but often,
they run into a girl they can never forget
- fancy looking, an attractive body and marching with huge
confidence.
Such “bad girl” has got these acts writing all kinds
of lyrics about her. They reflect in the visual presentation of the following
five odes dedicated to these unforgettable damsels:
Jesse Jagz featuring Wizkid - 'Bad girl'
Jesse Jags straight up shares “Me Llike ‘Em” on his
song 'Bad
Girl' featuring Wizkid. The Star boy sings; “only you wey go make my
life complete /only you, see I dey see yo/ dey make me dey happy, dey make me
dey smile/ just dey blow my mind”.
She must be real bad, because Wizzy belts out: “baby girl
call me jailer/ cause I’m a prisoner of love”.
Lynxxx featuring Banky W – 'African Bad girl'
Lynxxx and Banky are confident that in spite of her
exoticness she is from the motherland.
“She’s doing the Azonto from Ghana/ and that girl right
here from Tanzania/ beauty from Kenya to Yola, bad like that Weza chic
from Angola/thick chics like the ones from SA/ African women do things the best
way/ Shape, size and every criteria shout out to beauties down in Nigeria”.
Some of these girls got the guys begging for more. This
'African Bad Girl' has got the Syndik8
Records boss spitting all kind of lines: “Nne, I go toast you till
the bread burn”!
The music video for this track stars Kenyan beauty, Victoria Kimani.
3. Grip Muzik – 'Bad, Bad, Bad'
From the start of the song, the Grip Boyz call it like it
is: “That girl she bad, bad, bad”. Listeners seem to be guessing it has
something to do with how she “rolls”.
4. Trafic Babz – Bad Girls Crew
According to Trafic, there’s a whole group of them. The 323
Entertainment artiste describes her as having a “body like Tiwa” and
wearing “size 36 shoes”.
