Duncan Mighty Upholds Using Music to glorify God
Uzo Chikere
A life dedicated to service and glorification to God is the only way a fulfilled living. This is the belief of Port-Harcourt-based artiste, Bottom of Form
Duncan Mighty.  Although, the singer has a base in the south of Nigeria, he makes music that penetrates the far-reaching ends of the country.
He has shared his views about the ideal lifestyle goals and realms for musicians, pointing to Heaven as the sole aim for life on Earth.
According to him: “One of the costliest mistakes a musician or a star can make is for a music star to be living a useless life. I mean, living a life that will not glorify God. After all God has done for you through music, you forget how you started and you allow the fame to take over you.
“You can influence people in a better way. You can change people. But the right people cannot come to you because of your attitude. So, I think this is a big mistake.”
Duncan further described his music as giving the nod to all kinds of songs, except that made for the abuse of humankind.
Said he: “There’s nothing I don’t like about music. But as an artiste, when you have opportunities to sing, don’t use it to abuse other people.” He said.
“It’s very bad. I don’t like it because music is a gift given to us by God. So, we should use it to glorify God, not to abuse God or people.”
Duncan Mighty is well-loved in Nigeria, and he plans to maintain that with a new album planned for this year. He also attributed that success to humility, and optimal promotion, carried out by a good management team.
His words: “There are lots of ways you can succeed in the music industry. Number one, you have to have a good management; you sing very well; a lot of fans; meeting the right people in the industry and you need to be humble too. With all that put together, you will succeed as a musician”
