Kunle Afolayan Campaigns For Ambode In 60-Second TV Cmmercial
Uzo Chikere
Although it is unclear if it was borne out of pecuniary motivation or support driven by conviction, award-winning actor and filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, has shot a 60-second campaign commercial to further endorse the candidacy of the Lagos All Progressive Congress governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode.
In the campaign, the October 1 actor cum producer explains in pure Yoruba language why the APC candidate should be voted for to consolidate the incumbent's achievements.
The celebrated filmmaker used footages from his dad's popular flick, Ija Ominira, which was shot in 1978.
Afolayan’s production joins the list of television commercials and artistes who have enlisted to use the creative arts to drum up support for politicians.
