Samklef Out With track List Of "Sound Of Music" album

Nigeria’s top producer Samklef, founder and CEO of Klef Sounds, has released the official track list of his seconnd album “Sound Of Muzik”.

The year, 2015 has been good for the ace producer, as he has been consistent in churning out new music for the listening pleasure of his fans.

The prolific producer seems to be done with the studio, and he is ready to thrill with a body of work.

“Sound Of Musik” is an album needed to be anticipated. It is a compendium of the best of the best, with an avalanche of A-list featuring which includes Vecto Nigeria’s top producer Samklef, founder and CEO of Klef Sounds, has released the official tracklist of his 2nd album “Sound Of Muzik”.

The up-coming offering parades such tunes as  Ayenlo featuring Oritsefemi-VECTOR, AJOMAJAIYE FT Small Doctor – Falz, NEPA Don Bring Light featuring Mr 2Kay, Igboro featuring Pepenazi – Kay Switch, Wine It Up featuring Kayjay,  Living Large f. Intro-Bobo Dem

Others include Meji  featuring  Lil Jason Jay – Kenee, Nana featuring Base 1-Skales, Sufry featuring T-Spize (Co- produced by TSPIZE), Gbese featuring Lil Kesh (Produced by Jaypizzle), Asanwa,  and Muje.

Nollywood Actor Donates To Police Project In Warri

Ace Nollywood actor, Mr. Livinus Nnochiri, has identify with the on-going community developmental project at the ‘B Division’ Police station in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state (the heart
of the commercial city) in line with his ideological disposition of contributing little quota to societal growth.
Speaking with newsmen during the donation, Mr. Nnochiri noted that at this stage of nation building, it would be unreasonable for people to assume that community development especially when it comes to the security of lives and property should be left only to the government either at the federal, state or local level but rather should be seen as a collective effort of individuals resident in a particular area.

According to him, “although I do not reside in Delta State, I visit very often due to the choice of the place as the location for most of the home video shooting that I’ve featured. And it was during one of such visit prior to the 2015 general elections that I was privileged to have met the present Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the ‘B Division’, CSP Anietie Eyoh in Asaba, the state capital and I must
confess that he made an impression on me as an officer and a gentleman.


“Since then, we have been friends. And so, when I learnt he has been moved to Warri as the DPO of this Division and promoted to his new rank of a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), I decided to
come and pay him a visit. Before now, I’ve visited Warri on many occasions and I know this area very well as notorious in crime. I also know the vulnerable condition under which the policemen in this
division were working then and I wonder how they would effectively combat crimes when they are equally open to attacks.

“On getting here today, I find out that the DPO had initiated a community developmental project to fence round the police station and that motivated me to contributing my little quota of blocks and the
small exit gate of the police station. This is the only way I can appreciate our friendship while at the same time contributing to the safety of lives and property of both the residents and the policemen
working in this environment”.

Mr. Nnochiri, urged the residents of the community to come out and support this laudable developmental initiative of the DPO at the police station, adding that it was one of the ways of enhancing effective policing of the area as the policemen would want to perform better in the on-going war against violent crimes and other social vices in the community when they are equally secured.

Another donor to the police project at the ‘B Division’, Mr. Happy Ogheneovo, said he was moved to announce a donation of two (2) trips of sharp sand because he was impressed with the mode of operation of the DPO and his team in the community, noting that recently when his
snatched car, a Honda Pillot car with registration number Delta AE 134 EFF , was recovered by the men of the station, all his personal belongings including, money, phones and vital documents  were found
intact and the car was released to him without paying any money after proper identification.

While stating that he had never experienced such professionalism and honesty in any police station across the country, Mr. Ogheeovo, enjoined other Divisional Police Officers (DPO) in the country to
emulate CSP Eyoh in the civilized way and manner the police should relate with members of the public in carrying out their duties, stressing that this act of policing has further reaffirmed that there
are very many good officers in the police force.

Dance With Peter Meets Drama @ Lagos audition
There is this claim that Lagos the entertainment capital of West Africa. And so the city strove to lived up to that billing with some razzmatazz when the auditioning crew of the dance reality show, Dance with Peter powered by Globacom, hit the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria on Tuesday.

The Lagos audition was replete delightful twists, turns, frills, thrills and pleasant surprises, making it one of the most interesting auditions so far.

The amasement began with the show promoter, Peter Okoye of P-Square, mounting the stage at some point to challenge a contestant who was making a "mess" of the legendary 'Bad' steps of the late Michael Jackson.

However a fellow judge and dance legend, Kaffy, sent the hall into wild laughter when she delivered her verdict as follows: "looking at you from here and given what we are looking for in this show, I say come back to your seat and you are ruled out of contest."
Yet at some stage during the audition, the show host, Ehis Okoegule, 'stormed' the judges stand to protest the 'no' verdict passed on the twin dancers, Oliver and Emmanuel Wilson, who despite a scintillating performance were sent packing for what the judges  described as 'something missing'
Ehis practically held the judges to ransom until they changed the 'no' to a 'stand by' verdict, which gave the twins the opportunity to come back on stage and fight for one of the six slots available in the Lagos audition.
While the 'tension' was dying down, 13-year old Angel Ukaro-Agunbiade, a Junior secondary school three student of Grange School, Lagos,  took the audition to the next level with her marvelous dance steps which earned her a 'yes verdict' from the panel of judges, with an emphatic nod from Don Flex, the choreographer for the P-Square crew.
More drama was to come when Alozie Malachi, an ex-student of Nnekede Polytechnic, Owerri, climbed on stage with a framed picture of his girlfriend, whom he described as his muse.  

He placed the picture in one corner of the stage and went on to   thrill the judges and got a unanimous 'yes' verdict.  When prompted by Peter to show the hold he had on his girlfriend, Malachi tore his shirt to display a well chiseled broad chest with six packs which sent the ladies in the studio into frenzy.

At the audition were more than 300 individuals and groups, including an all-female dance group, Terrific Steppers, from the Love world Creative Arts Academy, a dance academy of the Christ Embassy Church. Terrific Steppers said they were ready to dazzle the judges and emerge with a qualifying ticket which will earn them a place in the final contest.

There were also the duo of Precious Ighofese and Hero Zaria of the Fire Flame, who travelled all the way from Ugheli in Delta State for the audition, "coming to Lagos after we missed the Benin audition last week is very fulfilling for us and as you know say Warri no dey carry last, expect the best from us. We go show the judges say dance dey Delta".

Dance with Peter auditions have already been held in Abuja, Accra, Ghana, and Benin City. The last one held in Port Harcourt, on Thursday, September 10. 

Subsequently, the final showdown is slated for Lagos where 30 selected contestants will slug it out for the star prize of N3million, a Rav4 SUV and a rare opportunity to feature in P-Square next music video. There are also a Honda City plus N2m and a Kia Rio with N1m for the first and second runners-up respectively. The first and second runners up will also have the grace to dance with a Glo ambassador each in their next music videos.

Large Crowd Invades Glo Laffta Fest Venue

The huge and almost uncontrollable crowd that emerged at last weekend’s Glo Laffta Fest seemed to attest to how popular the comedy concert packaged by national operator, Globacom, had become.

As early as 12 noon, excited Glo subscribers had started arriving the Eko Hotel venue for the show that was meant to kick off at 6 p.m. By the time the show was midway, over 6,000 people had packed into the venue, hardly leaving any leg room.

Their thirst for fun was duly rewarded as they were treated to an evening of rib-cracking jokes, drama and the best of Nigerian music by the comedians and musicians lined up by Glo.

Among them were Basketmouth, AY, Bovi,  Okey Bakassi, I go dye, Seyi Law, Funny Bone and Gordons.  From Uganda came that country’s most popular comedian, Salvador, who showed his familiarity with the Nigerian environment by anchoring his jokes around Nigerian foods and Nollywood's strengths and slip-ups.

There were also performances by Glo ambassadors Wizkid and Burna Boy to jazz up the night’s entertainment. Both provided musical flavour to the evening, sending their fans singing and dancing along with them.

Basketmouth who co-emceed the event was at his best and sustained the tempo, with his trademark hilarious jokes. Comedians AY, Funny Bone, Seyi Law and Salvador were in their best as they held the audience spell-bound, provoking spontaneous laughter throughout their time on stage.

Another Glo ambassador, Bovi,  also had an exceptional performance. He added to the fun by giving out recharge cards to fans who were fast enough to load free recharge numbers on their phones.  He also added colour to the evening by calling on some young ladies to come on stage and sing the first stanza of the National Anthem.  All but one were applauded for rendering the lyrics well. 

Comedy on the night hit the roof when the ever funny Okey Bakassi came on stage.  He displayed confidence as he gradually led the crowd through a web of intricate jokes  in a way that only a master could do and still got the crowd roaring in delight at the end of it all.  His joke about the biblical King Solomon and his wives was a clincher.

Some of those who graced the event were Nollywood stars and Glo Ambassadors, Ini Edo and Odunlade Adekola.  Helen Paul, Dija, Rickardo Banks, Deputy Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun Samuel and Commissioner of Police  in charge of Police Cooperative, Dorothy Gimba, also attended the event. 

 COSON Hosts Nigerian Digital Music Summit Sept.

Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) has concluded plans to host the Nigerian Digital Music Summit in collaboration with Growth & Employment Projects (GEM).The summit, according to a statement issued by the orgna’s corporate communications officer, Mary Uket, is to be supported by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment and funded by the World Bank and the United Kingdom’s Department of International Development (DFID). Slated for September 28 and 29 at Eko Convention Center, Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, it is themed, “Establishing the Basic Rules of Engagement in the Digital Environment.”

The two-day event provides an opportunity for key players in the production and distribution of music in the digital era in Nigeria to engage with copyright experts to determine the basic rules of engagement in the digital environment in order to ensure that every person or organization in the value chain can get a fair deal, a condition necessary for stability and growth of the music industry.

The summit will have in attendance copyright experts from around the world such as Tarja Koskinen-Olsson, International Adviser at Olsson & Koskinen Consulting, Finland & Sweden and former President, International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO); Robert Hooijer, International Consultant on Collective Management of Copyright and Neighbouring Rights and former CEO of International Confederation of Societies of Authors & Composers (CISAC) and current Coordinator of International Federation of Phonographic Industries (IFPI) for Sub Saharan Africa among others from different parts of the world

Speaking on the event, COSON Chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji said, “I expect to see every serious player in the music industry at the summit. I mean songwriters, performers, music publishers, music label owners, music aggregators, digital service providers, telephone companies, computer manufacturers, government regulatory agencies, etc. The summit is critical as the production and distribution of music has gone almost completely digital. New business models are emerging. The distribution process is changing rapidly. The summit is not a talk shop. It is an opportunity to agree on how to move forward so that everybody’s interest is protected and the Nigerian music industry can grow and meet its true potentials. Also speaking, Mr. Efe Omorogbe, CEO of Now Muzik and one of the panelists at the summit said, “The Nigerian music industry is set to make history as COSON rolls out the Digital Music Summit.
